Don't forget that every Sunday lunch we do a wood-fired roast, slowly and beautifully prepared in Sergio our rather
handsome wood oven...could be whole shoulder of goat, could be
lamb or a full suckling pig...call 9415 6876 to find out.

In tardy recognition of the
fact that Winter started recently the courtyard has been enhanced
with a large
retractable canopy, electric wall mounted heaters have also been
installed to ward of those chills and to keep Sergio The Wood
Oven
warm when he's not in use. As always, knee blankets
are available upon request. Hardy souls who choose to dine outside
and bask in the glow of the new facilities will be rewarded with
the staff's hard-earned respect.
Please check the home page for our new Winter operating hours.
The Commoner is available for functions, if you'd like to book our site for your event please call 9415 6876 for details.

After a year and two months of
forging the culinary identity of The Commoner our head chef Matt has
decided to move on to his next challenge. We wouldn't be what we are
today without Matt's huge talent for service and flavour.
We'd like to thank Matt enormously
for his contribution, hard work and enthusiasm during our tough but
wonderfully successful first year and wish him all the best in his
future endeavours.
Thanks Mr Donnelly.
We're very happy to announce that
Matt's position has been filled by Zoe Roy, former head chef of
Richmond Hill Cafe & Larder. Zoe comes to The Commoner with a
wealth of experience
including the position of Head Chef at Montsalvat Restaurant in Eltham
as well as honing her skills across Europe in France, Turkey, Scotland,
Ireland & England.
