We are so ready for 2012 and have our Event Calendar prepared for the year.

We have designed the Event Calendar in poster form for collection from The Commoner and other local businesses so you will know when to join us and what for. In addition to the above we are doing Mushroom season again in a huge way, with Mushrooms Anoymous and Bress Winery over June and July. Plus keep your eye out for our usual tricky bits and pieces. So, drop in and pick up a copy. The Calendar is courtesy of the wonderful Adrian Elton.

The Commoner embraces the true meaning of Modern British cooking, reflecting the flavours that were brought back to England over the decades by British travelers through the Southern Mediterranean and North Africa, revolutionising traditional English cookery.

The Moorish influence at the Commoner comes through in the delicate use of spices, and more evidently in the style of service we encourage, with small and share plates, whole joints of meat out of the wood oven straight to the table.

Experience Sunday evenings where there is no menu, we simply feed you. Book ahead with your preferred dining time and dietaries for a beautifully relaxed degustation.

Food at The Commoner is about seasonality; proud and honest ingredients served on the plate with a lot of love and a little playfulness.

Join us in our new areas upstairs....The Rabbit Trap; private dining room for eight to ten guests. The Long Room; seating for up to sixteen. The Bar; aperitif, wine, and small food to share.
