The heart of The Commoner focuses on cherishing the finest of seasonal ingredients and embracing the best of modern British cuisine. Our menu includes an abundance of foraged food and absolutely fresh produce sourced directly from Melbourne’s vibrant wholesale markets by our kitchen crew. We smoke, cure, pickle, brine, and bake our way through the seasons, to provide our customers with a uniquely personal and ever changing dining experience. The Commoner celebrates a philosophy of shared plate dining, and all our dishes are designed with this in mind.

“Feed Me”

For seven years now, in addition to our ever-changing a la carte menu, we have celebrated the ‘Feed Me’ alternative. Originally limited to Sunday evenings, the set price Feed Me menu – made up of our favourite dishes – has proved so popular that we now offer it at every service. Providing a rare opportunity for customers who delight in sampling the best our kitchen has to offer, we like to think that the ‘Feed Me’ experience expresses a true show of trust on the part of our customers, and the ultimate show of hospitality on ours. All dietary requirements and comfort issues can be observed with prior knowledge, and the tailoring of your menu to suit your requirements is integral to the service we enjoy providing. Our staff are trained to understand allergies and other dietary requirements, ensuring that all our guests receive the same level of care and enjoyment.
